Disasters strike when you least expect them.

Emergency management specialists prepare plans that outline operating procedures to be used in response to disasters or emergencies. They are responsible for developing and maintaining liaisons with municipalities, county departments, and similar bodies in order to properly prepare for disasters; order evacuations; and open public shelters.

Durham Tech recognized the growing need for these professionals and created the Emergency Management program. This curriculum provides students with a foundation of technical and professional knowledge to work in local and state government agencies.
