Alert: Durham Tech classes that have shifted to remote instruction will resume Monday, March 30. In-person classes that have not been transitioned to online are suspended until further notice. Campus Police and Public Safety
The Durham Tech Police and Public Safety department provides 24-hour-a-day patrol protection for the College’s buildings, grounds, and parking lots. It responds to crime reports, fires, medical emergencies, traffic accidents, and other incidents requiring police or security assistance. The office is located on Main Campus in Building 8.

To report a crime or an emergency at the Durham Tech Orange County Campus, call Campus Police and Public Safety at 911 or, ext. 5555 or if the call is being sent from outside the college phone system, call 919-536-7255, ext. 5555, or 919-732-4185. Crimes may also be reported to the Hillsborough Police Department at 911 or 919-296-9500.
To report a non-emergency security or public safety-related matter or to request non-emergency assistance, call Campus Police and Public Safety at extension 5555 or, if the call is being sent outside the college phone system, call 919-536-7255.
Anyone who must walk alone on campus at night is encouraged to take advantage of a Campus Police and Public Safety escort by dialing extension 5500 from a campus phone or, if the call is being sent from outside the college phone system, by calling 919-536-7255. A member of the Police and Public Safety staff will accompany the caller to any campus building or parking lot.
Lost and Found
Any lost-and-found items should be turned in to the Campus Police and Public Safety Office. Persons looking for lost items should check in the Campus Police and Public Safety Office.
The college is committed to the safety and security of all members of the college community. In times of emergency, the college will provide appropriate campus-wide response to assure safety and minimize losses.
